This week’s installment comes from Los Angeles-based band Wallows, who have just released their new single Your Favorite New Song, brimming with pop synths, light vocals, and instrumental flourishes. You might recognize the band from their 2019 hit, “Are You Bored Yet?” — but with this new release and their upcoming EP, it’s safe to say the answer is no. Along with curating a playlist of their (old) favorite songs, Wallows told us where they like to wallow and who they trust most with aux.

LEMASTERS: Caring what other people listen to.

LEMASTERS: Anywhere you need to.

PRESTON: The car.

LEMASTERS: Sparkling water with orange peel.

PRESTON: Mezcal margarita.

MINNETTE: Maybe start with a cocktail but beer is always a safe choice.

LEMASTERS: L.A. 

PRESTON: L.A.

MINNETTE: L.A. is the best city ever. Love NY so much though.

LEMASTERS: Nathan Lindsay.

PRESTON: Armlock.

MINNETTE: Amen Dunes. Death Jokes II was my favorite album of 2024. Apparently he’s not making music anymore now and he will be sorely missed by me.

LEMASTERS: John Lennon.

PRESTON: John Congleton.

MINNETTE: Kevin Grimmett, Blake Morell or Danny Ferenbach. They can all rock, paper, scissors if they want.

LEMASTERS: Cole getting tattooed.

PRESTON: Probably me getting tattooed.

MINNETTE: Wouldn’t you like to know.

LEMASTERS: Philz coffee.

LEMASTERS: 2010.

PRESTON: 2000s.

MINNETTE: 2010s. Incredibly formative years for me.
