It’s been four years since Bktherula’s outsider anthem “Tweakin’ Together” took off, and she hasn’t slowed down since. But the 21-year-old Atlanta native, born Brooklyn Rodriguez, isn’t in it for the hype. Known for dropping infectious bars that can’t be categorized, dubbing duplicitous hoes and flexing racks while switching gears from acoustic to aggressive, Bktherula is riding her own wave amongst a swell of underground rappers coasting on TikTok virality. Just weeks away from a highly anticipated follow-up to her album LVL5, Pt. 1 and a North American tour alongside PinkPantheress, she’s on a permanent high.

American Deli. I get the six-piece mild wings and the fries with extra seasoning. You need the crack dust. If the dust isn’t on there, it’s not going to hit the same. For the drink, you want to ask for half lemonade, half peach. That shit is going to change your life.
What’s your hidden talent?
I can crack my neck on command. It starts my day. If I don’t crack my neck, I might get a little attitude.
What do you do when you’re alone?
Read the Bible.

How much time do you spend on your phone?
Probably five to six hours. Lately I’ve been moving so fast that I don’t really be on it unless I get a call or I’m about to go to sleep.

Toys. Appropriate toys. Kids’ toys. Tech Decks. I just got a tattoo that says Tech Deck.
