Tom Glynn-Carney On What It’s Like Swinging Swords at Timothée Chalamet’s Head
The 24-year-old English actor Tom Glynn-Carney was still in drama school when Christopher Nolan cast him opposite Harry Styles in Dunkirk. After a trip to Broadway, where he appeared in the Tony-winning play The Ferryman, he is back in front of the camera in the upcoming medieval epic The King, next to Robert Pattinson and Timothée Chalamet. “Timmy and I had a huge fight scene that we had to rehearse for a few months before we started shooting. I’d go to work like, ‘Right, okay. Here I am, and the task for today is to stand next to this guy I’ve only just met, and to swing a giant sword at his head.’ If you think about it too much, it sounds quite weird. But it’s my job.”
