Rick Owens Makes Male Leggings Totally Normal

A little bit of Rick Owens goes a long way.  The super-wide shoulders and extra long, minimalist coats and jackets he showed gave the men in his show an otherworldly quality somewhere between celestial and menacingly alien. And it’s amazing what a little bit of back combing will do for a man; all of a sudden wow, it’s Brooke Shields! One of Owens’ new coats  is styled like a jean jacket over a coat and it’s worn over leggings which have been showing up so frequently on fall runways they’re beginning to seem almost normal. Owens likes thin string belts on jackets and coats; another feminine detail which in his hands looks quite virile. And he’s a master at taking something simple like corduroy and making it look like it just popped in from Mars. All he did was work it horizontally and in white and it was instant outer space.
