The Charming Nicole Trunfio

Supermodel Nicole Trunfio has two goals: to sell you a $10 album and a $30,000 charm bracelet.

Trunfio is best known as a model—for Versace, Chanel, and Dolce & Gabbana, among others—but her extracurricular pursuits are equally impressive. Her indie band Henry Blak released its gritty self-titled EP earlier this month, and this week she debuts a web store for her jewelry line Trunfio Jewels and the “Universe Bracelet,” her unique and modern take on the classic charm bracelet—with a lot less jangling and a more understated sense of “bling.” Offered in sterling silver, platinum, and gold, the charm bracelet can be fastened with an assortment of charms, including a gold pyramid and a black diamond.

The most luxurious combination involves the 14-karat gold bracelet with a pavé diamond attachment, and runs at $30,000. Trunfio insists the price hasn’t diminished interest. “We’ve definitely been selling them. Once people see them, they love them,” she says.

Although her inspiration for the Universe Bracelet came from Cartier’s distinctive Love Bracelet bangle, she preferred her jewelry to have a simple design that required little assemblage—no screwdriver required. “My first piece of jewelry was actually a charm bracelet, so that’s very sentimental to me, and I wanted to make a charm bracelet in a very innovative way,” Trunfio says. “So the Universe Bracelet was born.”

There are currently two new jewelry designs in the works for Trunfio—all while she continues to model and plan for an upcoming performance or two for Henry Blak. Luckily, her musician boyfriend, Gary Clark Jr., knows a thing or two about busy schedules. “He’s a very supportive partner,” she says.
