Greta Varlese says she is inspired by “ambitious people.” The Italian model, who began her career after participating in an Elite Model Look Italia competition, describes herself as “a strong, emotional, and sensitive young woman who dreams big and still has a lot of things to discover in life.” A favorite of Riccardo Tisci, Varlese has appeared in multiple Givenchy campaigns, as well as advertisements for Prada, Vera Wang, Zara, and Valentino, and has worked with the likes of Steven Meisel, Harley Weir, Patrick Demarchelier, Collier Schorr, and Craig McDean.
THE PERSON I ADMIRE THE MOST:
Maybe a bit of a cliché, but my mom. She’s such a strong and powerful woman.
QUESTIONS I CAN’T ANSWER:
If I can’t answer them, how can I answer this?
MY BIGGEST ADVENTURE:
Every time I travel somewhere new, it’s an adventure. I guess all of the places I’ve been to—and the ones I will go to—are my greatest adventures.
MY GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT:
It’s still to come, because you always can do better, but I’m pretty proud of having shot three Givenchy campaigns in a row.
THINGS I’D LIKE TO IMPROVE ABOUT MYSELF:
Definitely my patience, but my job helps a lot with that. Sometimes you have no choice and you just have to be patient.
GAMES I PLAY:
I’m more a TV series kind of girl. I remember I used to play to Candy Crush though, if that counts.
MY GREATEST VICE:
People who make me feel good.
SOME THINGS I’D RATHER FORGET:
If you wish to forget something, most of the time, it’s because it hurt you, but you grow and learn from painful memories. I don’t want to forget anything. It’s part of who I am today.
MY IDEA OF HAPPINESS:
Archiving things in life with the person you love.
ONE LAST FAVOR I’D LIKE TO ASK:
Never stop believing and fighting for what you think is right.
