Anonymous Husband Reviews Celine Homme Summer 25, “The Bright Young”

For Celine Homme Summer 25, Hedi Slimane takes us to the English countryside for an Anglomania-inspired collection. “The Bright Young” features boating blazers, regal capes, and boys in flower adorned hats, a romantic collection that inspired a romantic review from our senior editor Taylore Scarabelli, who had her husband sound off on Slimane’s latest masterpiece from bed. TAYLORE SCARABELLI: Alright I’m here with my husband. I just woke him up with an iced coffee and told him that he needs to review the Celine show with me. We’re in bed. This is so romantic. So this is Celine Men’s Summer 25.

HUSBAND: Who’s the designer?

SCARABELLI: Hedi Slimane, hello! The creator of skinny jeans. This is called “The Bright Young” and was shot in Norfolk England. Wow, look at this gorgeous boy. Wait what instrument is that?

[Trumpet music starts playing]

HUSBAND: Trumpet.

SCARABELLI: Nice. Do you think this guy is an authentic trumpet player? Or is he just performing? As a jazz musician, what would you say?

HUSBAND: He’s playing the trumpet.

SCARABELLI: He’s the real deal. Oh, look at this Celine staff. She’s regal. Wow, we are on the palace grounds. In the gardens. It’s always about the scenery for Celine. Look at this riding fit. Everyone’s really into JFK iconography right now, you know?

HUSBAND: It’s so cherubic

SCARABELLI: It is. I love the flowers. That little silk scarf action. The pinstripes. Beautiful. How are you feeling about this? I could see you in, maybe not the short-shorts, but that biker jacket. The styling here is really great. I think ties are about to make a comeback. I like that pairing. It’s preppy, but has a little bit of an edge with the leather. 

HUSBAND: A little too preppy for me.

SCARABELLI: Woah, this is getting sexy. And look at those bambis. 

HUSBAND: So innocent. 

SCARABELLI: They are doe-eyed, just like the models. Oh my god. I love the tweed shorts, with the red sock.

HUSBAND: I like the chains. 

SCARABELLI: What do we even call those? I’m really not a menswear person. Explain this shit to me. 

HUSBAND: It’s kind of like a pocket watch chain. 

SCARABELLI: Right. This is like the School of Celine. The insignia. It’s very…what’s the Barry Keoghan move? The one where they go to the fancy estate and he murders everyone? I want to see Jacob Elordi in those white pants.

HUSBAND: Saltburn.

SCARABELLI: Yeah. The music is so intense. It sets the mood. You really know where you’re at. Who wouldn’t want to live like this for a day?

HUSBAND: Oh, horses. 

SCARABELLI: And Celine riding boots.

HUSBAND: I should get my dad a Celine bowtie.

SCARABELLI: Absolutely. Also, the Wayfair glasses remind me of The Shards. 

HUSBAND: This is very Brett Easton Ellis. Very prep school. Check out the country boy.

SCARABELLI: Oh my god. With his suspenders. He’s sad because he can’t afford the nice suits like the other boys. 

HUSBAND: It’s Huckleberry Finn in a tree. 

SCARABELLI: Could you do a cape?

HUSBAND: Depends on the occasion, I guess. Maybe for Halloween. 

SCARABELLI: Oh a red tie, that’s subversive. Ok top hat. Yes. 

HUSBAND: Go off. 

SCARABELLI: Glam. The casting is just…wow. All of these boys are beautiful. 

HUSBAND: Look at the coat. 

SCARABELLI: You like those tails? That’s chic. Maybe one day we will be invited to a castle and you can pull some Celine looks. 

HUSBAND: Yeah. I like the suede jacket. 

SCARABELLI: Okay, you’re warming up here, getting into it, finding some looks. Oh look, it’s Draco Malfoy, with the bleached blond hair. This is making me want to go horseback riding. 

HUSBAND: Oh look at that. Hugh Hefner. 

SCARABELLI: That red robe coat. Smoking jacket. Is that what it’s called? 

HUSBAND: I think it’s just a pajama. 

SCARABELLI: Ok look at these three closing out the show. Woah. What is this? The king?

HUSBAND: The young emperor!

SCARABELLI: Oh my god, this velvet cape is just stunning, with the gold trim. Wow. This palace is fabulous. No women in sight, just beautiful young men. The Bright Young. Bravo. How would you describe the collection? 

HUSBAND: Cherubic prep.
